THE MEDIA VOICE OF THE GLOBAL MARINA INDUSTRY

AUSTRALIA: Green light for landside boost at Marina Mirage

Further to the upgrade at Marina Mirage on Australia’s east coast that created a 78-berth superyacht marina, owner Makris Group has received approval from the City of Gold Coast’s planning and environmental committee for significant further landside redevelopment.

The proposed mixed-use $500 million development comprises high-end apartments, villas, a boutique hotel and significant upgrades to the waterfront dining and retail offerings. A 2027 opening is mooted, well ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
While adopting a low-rise character and charm to align with the Spit Master Plan, and a botanical setting, the development proposes an innovative mix of offerings to reflect outdoor lifestyle and boost wellbeing and rejuvenation. Australian retail boutiques will be positioned under the site’s nationally renowned iconic ‘sails’.
